Extraction Method/Origin: Steam distilled from wood, bark, and needles—Idaho
Chemical Constituents: Monoterpenes: camphene, α-pinene, limonene, δ-3carene, β-pinene, santene, tricyclene; Esters: bornyl acetate; Alcohols: borneol, longiborneol; Sesquiterpenes: longifolene, longicyclene: Ketones: camphor.
Properties: Anti-infectious, anti-inflammatory, antispasmodic, cortisone-like, disinfectant, and tonic.
Common Primary Uses: AAphrodisiac,Tbathroom/kitchen cleaning, Tcooling,Tfurniture polish, Thyperthyroidism, Ayoga.
Historical Uses: Spruce was used by the Lakota Indians to enhance their communication with the Great Spirit.
French Medicinal Uses: Arthritis, candida, hyperthyroidism, immune-depression, prostatitis, rheumatism, solar plexus.
Other Possible Uses: Spruce oil creates the symbolic effect of an umbrella that protects the earth and brings energy in from the universe. At night the animals in the wild lie down under the trees for the protection, recharging, and rejuvenation the trees bring them. Spruce may be beneficial for bone pain, glandular system, aching joints, opening the pineal gland, sciatica pain, and stimulating the thymus and adrenal glands.

Oral Use As Dietary Suppliment: Approved by the FDA for use as a Food Additive (FA) and Flavoring Agent (FL). Dilute one drop oil in 1 tsp. honey or in 4 oz. of beverage (i.e. soy/rice milk). Not for children under 6 years old; use with caution and in greater dilution for children 6 years old and over.
