Extraction Method/Origin: Steam distilled from flowers—Yugoslavia, France, Italy (Note: Since the supply of pure, therapeutic-grade helichrysum can be somewhat erratic at times, similar therapeutic results have been achieved by using a blend of 3 oils as follows: 5 drops elemi, 5 drops Idaho tansy, 1 drop wintergreen)
Chemical Constituents: Esters (up to 60%): neryl acetate (up to 50%), neryl propionate & butyrate (<10%); Ketones: italidione (<20%), β-diketone; Sesquiterpenes: γ-curcumene (<20%), β-caryophyllene (<5%); Monoterpenes: l-limonene (<13%), α-pinene; Alcohols: nerol (<5%), linalol (<4%), geraniol; Oxides: 1,8 cineol; Phenols: eugenol.
Properties: Antibacterial, anticatarrhal, anticoagulant, antioxidant, antispasmodic, antiviral, expectorant, and mucolytic.

Folklore: Helichrysum as an ornamental dried flower retains its fragrance, color, and shape almost forever. Hence came the other names “Everlasting” or “Immortelle” by which it is commonly known.
Historical Uses: Helichrysum has been used for asthma, bronchitis, whooping cough, headaches, liver ailments, and skin disorders.
French Medicinal Uses: Blood cleansing, chelating agent for metallics, chemicals, and toxins, viral colitis, detoxification, gallbladder infection, hematoma, hypocholesterol, liver cell function stimulant, lymph drainage, pain reducer, pancreas stimulant, phlebitis, sciatica, sinus infection, skin conditions (eczema, dermatitis, psoriasis), stomach cramps, sun screen.
Other Possible Uses: This oil may help anger, stop bleeding, circulatory functions, gallbladder infection, improve hearing, hematoma (swelling or tumor full of diffused blood), detoxify the liver and stimulate liver cell function, lymph drainage, pain (acute), relieve respiratory conditions, reduce scarring, scar tissue, reduce tissue pain, regenerate tissue, and varicose veins.

Oral Use As Dietary Suppliment: Generally regarded as safe (GRAS) for human consumption by the FDA. Dilute one drop oil in 1 tsp. honey or in 4 oz. of beverage (i.e. soy/rice milk). Not for children under 6 years old; use with caution and in greater dilution for children 6 years old and over.
